The site of the martyrdom of Sardinia's most venerated saint

General description
The Church of Sant'Efisio, located near the site of Nora, is one of Sardinia's most significant places of worship. A small Romanesque church nestled in a picturesque coastal landscape, it is linked to the cult of the martyred saint Efisio, the island's protector.
Historical notes
Tradition identifies this place as the site of the martyrdom of Saint Efisio in 303 AD, during the persecutions of Diocletian.
The current building dates back to the 11th–12th century and features characteristics of the Sardinian Romanesque style, with a single nave and semicircular apse.
The church is deeply connected to the great feast of Sant'Efisio and the pilgrimage that crosses Sardinia every year from Cagliari to Nora.
Points of interest
Sober and harmonious Romanesque architecture in local stone.
Decorations, frescoes and furnishings linked to the cult of the saint.
Unique landscape context, between the coast, the coastal tower and the archaeological area of Nora.
Digitalization and immersive content
The "Pula Digital Heritage" project uses advanced 3D scanning, photogrammetry, and digital modeling technologies to document the area's historical, archaeological, and landscape sites.
Digital models and immersive content allow you to explore heritage even remotely, offering an experience accessible to all and supporting research, dissemination and education activities.
The virtual visits and immersive itineraries are collected in a single digital platform, which allows you to explore the project's digitized sites in an integrated way.
