The coastal bastion overlooking the bay of Nora

General description
The Coltellazzo Tower, also known as the Tower of Sant'Efisio, is a coastal tower of Spanish origin located on a promontory overlooking the Bay of Nora. With its panoramic position and unmistakable profile, it is one of the symbols of Pula's coastal landscape.
Historical notes
Built between the 16th and 17th centuries by the Spanish as part of the coastal defensive system against the raids of Barbary pirates.
It has a circular plan, thick walls made of local stone and a height that guaranteed a wide view of the sea routes.
In visual connection with other towers along the coast, it served for sighting and signalling through smoke and fire.
Points of interest
Spectacular views of Nora, the lagoon, and the southwest coast of Sardinia.
Unique landscape, between cliffs overlooking the sea and Mediterranean scrub.
A key element for understanding Sardinia's historical coastal defense system.
