The Museum of Sulcitani Paleontological Environments "EA Martel" (PAS) is dedicated to the geology and paleontology of the Sulcis Iglesiente region. Located in the former workshop of the Great Serbariu Mine, it was founded in 1972 by the EA Martel Speleological Group and became a civic museum in 1996.
The exhibition is organized chronologically: through fossils and rocks, it covers 500 million years, from the Cambrian sediments to the remains of primitive man.
Particularly fascinating are the section “Bio-events, mass extinctions and dinosaurs”, the life-size skull of a Tyrannosaurus rex, the skeletons of dwarf mammoths and the collections of extinct organisms.
3D digitization allows you to visit the museum online, admiring artifacts and reconstructions and delving into the climate and environmental changes that have shaped Sardinia over the millennia. It's an educational tool that brings both adults and children closer to the history of life on Earth.
