A unique ecosystem combining nature, archaeology, and environmental education

General description
The Nora Lagoon is a wetland of great naturalistic and archaeological value, located behind the promontory on which the ancient city of Nora stands. It is home to the CEAS – Environmental Education Center, which offers educational programs on marine and lagoon biodiversity, ecology, and sustainability.
Historical and environmental notes
The lagoon is linked to the history of the Punic-Roman city of Nora and is home to submerged finds and traces of ancient production activities.
The CEAS of Nora is a center for environmental education and the protection of marine fauna, with a Cetacean and Sea Turtle Recovery Center.
The "Biodiversity Trail" and the "Cetacean Gallery" tell the story of ecosystems, protected species, and the impact of human activities on the environment.
Points of interest
Outdoor educational trails and exhibition spaces dedicated to lagoon and marine biodiversity.
Canoe excursions in the lagoon and archaeological-naturalistic snorkeling in the Bay of Nora.
Cetacean and Sea Turtle Recovery Center with a unique cetological collection in Sardinia.
Digitalization and immersive content
The "Pula Digital Heritage" project uses advanced 3D scanning, photogrammetry, and digital modeling technologies to document the area's historical, archaeological, and landscape sites.
Digital models and immersive content allow you to explore heritage even remotely, offering an experience accessible to all and supporting research, dissemination and education activities.
The virtual visits and immersive itineraries are collected in a single digital platform, which allows you to explore the project's digitized sites in an integrated way.
